Capgemini produced a genuinely unique and powerful tech trends report because of the dozens of examples that show you how financial services are changing before our very eyes.
The examples in this report are fabulous and reinforce its message that the tech trends it promotes are concrete and attainable. And for that, I think it’s one of the best I’ve seen!
None of these tech trends will singularly change any institutions featured in the examples. But if you consider an institution adding them all over the next five years, it will be clear that banking and insurance are in for big changes.
But the most important question is: “Is this report overhyping AI?”
I’m happy to answer: Not at all!
I did a simple test to see if this report overhyped AI. I looked to see how many of the 27 key trends in the report were directly tied to AI. Only ten were, which means a respectable 63% of the trends were NOT AI.
